Love this pack !! Use it for all activities such as ski touring, biking and hiking. So helpful having zipped pockets around the front for my phone and easy assess snacks. Also the zip down the side is very ideal to gab gear on the go :))

I had a octane 18 for many years it i was one of the best packs i have ever had. The octane 16 is probably the worst. the front chest pockets are a waste of time as everything falls out of them if you bend over or take your pack off. I have lost a pair of gloves and almost lost my phone falling out the front chest pockets. the roll down top is completely unnecessary as there is a zip on the side, its not a hiking pack and its not a running vest it is something in between that just does not work
